Happy new year and welcome to the first newsletter of 2009!
On this occasion, we are pleased to release a set of live interventions filmed during the last advanced course in digestive surgery at the IRCAD-EITS (November 27-29, 2008); 3 of those are HD videos that you will be able to download for 9.95€ or 14.95$ only per video! We are also publishing 10 new videos showing different surgical procedures, along with 3 lectures in colorectal surgery and expert interviews in various fields of laparoscopic surgery!
We are also happy to present a new critical analysis; this month it is the video "Laparoscopic sigmoidectomy for acute diverticulitis (Hinchey stage IIb)"by J. Leroy and J. Marescaux, reviewed by P. Ambrosetti (CH).
In NOTES, we havenew media recorded live at the IRCAD-EITS for our EATS members. The media was shot during the last advanced course in NOTES (October 3-4, 2008) and is available on the EATS website: http://www.eats.fr. WeBSurg's 2008 Activity Report: From strength to strength!
Over the past year, the evolution of the WeBSurg program has been absolutely outstanding. 2008 marks the availability of WeBSurg in other languages such as Spanish and Chinese. In addition, HD videos and a version of WeBSurg suitable for iPhones have been introduced.
WeBSurg totals more than 70,200 active members with an average of 3,500 new members every month. As an example, this newsletter is now sent to 105,000 valid email addresses. In 2008, WeBSurg was seen by surgeons 1,200,000 times.
Distribution of visits breaks down as follows: North America (36%), Europe (35%), Asia (23%), Africa (5%), and Oceania (1%).
Thanks to the new HD links between Strasbourg's New University Hospital and the IRCAD-EITS Training Centre, we are able to offer our WeBSurg members a selection of High Definition videos for download.
Due to the high costs of running such a HD service, the downloads are available for a small fee of 9.95€ or 14.95$ only for each video.
Try them now and prepare for immersive surgery!
