OTHER MEETINGS:
January 11-12, 2018
1st International Conference on Sublobar resections for lung cancer, Montsouris Institute, Paris, France
The penetration of sublobar resections within the thoracic surgeons community is increasing. But most agree the optimal benefit of parenchyma sparing surgery is obtained when procedure are carried out via thoracoscopy, whatever the technique (multiple ports, single ports, robotics.)... We also agree that the closed chest approach poses unique problems to surgeons. One of the reasons is the difficulty in understanding anatomical landmarks and comprehending the intersegmental plane. This is why all technologies contributing to an optimal preparation of the procedure are of major interest for surgeons, e.g. endobronchial navigation, mapping, 3D modelisation, rapid prototyping and 3D printing...
This video describes one of the several sublobar resection that will be discussed in detail at the first international conference on sublobar resections for lung cancer, January 11-12th.
