Dear member,

Summer finds us busier than ever. We now have our first three CME chapters online, the result of intensive collaboration between WebSurg and the University of Virginia, School of Medicine. This partnership provides AMA category 1 credit for content available on www.websurg.com. Through joint sponsorship with the University of Virginia, chapters are peer reviewed and developed to meet the ACCME (American Council for Continuing Medical Education) Essential Areas, Elements and Standards.

Since the beginning of July 2002, www.websurg.com has undergone a considerable make over, aiming to simplify navigation and access to the contents of the Virtual University, now divided by specialty on the home page. A comprehensive Table of Contents serves as a logical interface linking topics within specialties to operative technique chapters, videos, clinical cases, and expert opinions. A side menu lists additional areas of interest such as CME, WebSurg links, Help, and information on subscriptions and CD-ROMs. As ever, we would be delighted to hear your opinion on these changes!

The innovative nature of our site was recognized recently; the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Upper Rhine Valley (France, Germany, and Switzerland) awarded WebSurg first prize of the Innovation Trophy in the category 'the Internet, e-commerce and telecommunications'.
