DEAR_USER

A friendly welcome to our March 2017 Newsletter.

We are delighted to dedicate part of our Newsletter to our WeBSurg Hall of Fame. The objective is to reward the best HD video contributor who has covered original comprehensive and academic educational topics in the field of minimally invasive surgery. Consequently, our March issue is entirely dedicated to our generous and loyal video contributors in all fields of minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic hernia repair, distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy, cystectomy, nephrectomy, overviews of arthroscopic treatments of scaphoid proximal pole replacement, to mention a few. The Hall of Fame is running on an ongoing basis and will be continued until July 2017. Watch this space!

This month also features a special focus on gynecological cancers (i.e., cervical, ovarian, and endometrial cancer) and endometriotic nodules, their surgical indications and laparoscopic management (lymphadenectomy, hysterectomy, and fistula repair).

Our April issue will feature endocrine surgery and a novel, groundbreaking technique: transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy, based on the principles of natural orifice transluminal surgery (NOTES) as it allows for a truly scar-free surgery with minimal dissection. Do not miss our brand-new state-of-the-art presentation on treatment modalities for choledocholithiasis. Stay tuned!

Thank you once again for your concern and interest in our expanding WeBSurg community.

Your feedback is always appreciated.

Prof. Jacques Marescaux   Yours faithfully,

In order to show our appreciation to our loyal members who have contributed to diversifying the content of WeBSurg, we are excited to run a WeBSurg special HALL OF FAME.

Videos received from contributors are constantly evaluated during a given time period, which will end in July 2017. Specific criteria, including image quality (High-Definition standards), scientific and educational relevance, number of views, will be evaluated. The contributors who win the challenge will be offered a special insert in the WeBSurg monthly Newsletter, covering their achievements and expertise in a given field of minimal access surgery. The winners will also be rewarded with a special surprise. Stay tuned!
