A hearty welcome to our September 2015 Newsletter. We hope that you have had a lovely summer. We are excited to release our brand-new state-of-the-art on the management of acute diverticulitis encompassing the latest international guidelines and consensus recommendations, and surgical approaches.Colorectal surgery will also be extensively covered with lectures, videos, and experts' analyses covering the most recent procedures such as TAMIS TME and new methods for the treatment of complications. Other topics incorporate flexible and hybrid endoscopic surgery, with a focus on Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), pediatric surgery with a special focus on the thoracoscopic repair of esophageal atresia, wrist arthroscopic surgery, and gynecologic surgery. COMPLETE RENOVATION OF THE IRCAD'S EXPERIMENTAL LABORATORY The experimental lab of the IRCAD has just been redesigned and improved. It took 4 weeks of renovation works over the summer period, and from today onwards, it is ready to welcome the first courses in laparoscopic surgery in a unique environment. The IRCAD is now equipped with an experimental platform including 34 operating tables for minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and endoluminal surgery).
